Generally, if your dog in its carrier can fit under the seat in front of you, it can go in the cabin. Traveling with a dog this way, essentially as carry-on luggage, usually incurs a lower fee than if it travels in the belly of the plane. And by the way, a pet in its carrier counts as your carry-on bag.
Hereof, what airlines allow dogs on the plane?
- Air Canada. If you have a pocket pooch, there's a possibility to go flying with dogs in the aircraft cabin on Air Canada.
- American Airlines. Support dogs are allowed, but if they're large they need their own ticket!
- Delta.
- JetBlue.
- Southwest.
- United Airlines.
Furthermore, how do you travel with a dog on a plane?
Rachel Crocetti
- Make sure your dog is the right size to fit under the seat comfortably.
- Make sure that your dog has the right temperament to fly.
- Find a pet carrier that your dog is comfortable in.
- Pack all your dog's necessities.
- Call ahead to reserve a space for your dog.
- Be prepared to pay extra fees.
Be sure to carry pee pads in your carry-on so that your dog can use them. When you think your dog has to pee, bring them into the airplane bathroom and lay down a pee pad. You should stop giving them water two hours before the flight to eliminate their need to pee.
