What is sensor dry?
Accordingly, how does Sensor Dry work?
The moisture sensor does what it's name implies–senses moisture. If you use the “auto-dry” setting on your clothes dryer, this sensor will keep tabs on when your clothes are dry, and turn the dryer off automatically. This can save you a lot of money and reduce carbon emissions substantially.
Considering this, how do you know if your dryer sensor is bad?
Put the dryer into the test, open the door and then with wet fingers, short across the two moisture sensors. It should beep unless there is an open sensor circuit. Any Ohm meter will measure continuity.
It's typically found on the back wall of the dryer drum or in the front near the lint trap. Use fine grit sandpaper to scrub the moisture sensor. This will help remove fabric softener build-up, lint, or any debris that is interfering with the sensor. Use a dry rag to polish up moisture sensor.
