How is AdvanTech made?
In this regard, is AdvanTech flooring waterproof?
AdvanTech flooring is a water resistant, dimensionally stable engineered strand product that was designed to withstand exposure to moisture during normal construction delays. In some areas, frequent and lengthy rain storms result in standing water on the floor systems of buildings under construction.
In this way, is AdvanTech a OSB?
Advantech is still an OSB subfloor and is NOT recommended for use as a single layer solution under a tile installation according to Huber (Advantech's Company) or the TCNA.
This is not to say that OSB has no problem whatsoever when exposed to excessive moisture. OSB's other moisture challenge has to do with dimensional stability - in other words, OSB can irreversibly swell, especially at the edges, when it gets too wet.
