Re: Working With PVC Trim - Finishing , Painting, Sealing, Filling, Caulking. On PVC latex/acryllics adhere very well, no need for a primer. Although that stuff does expand/contract quite a bit so your best bet is going to be a paintable silicone for caulking.
Consequently, does silicone caulk adhere to PVC?
the silicone will ony stick if you break the surface sheen of the PVC away. otherwise it is just a vacuum seal at best.
Also know, can you use caulk on PVC pipe?
Seams or gaps that exist where you have PVC piping for drains or vents must be sealed. A quick and easy way to seal PVC is with silicone. The pipe must be dry before you apply the silicone; this allows the silicone to set up properly.
Since silicone creates strong adhesive bonds and is resistant to chemicals, moisture, and weathering, there are many uses for it. One of the most common uses for silicone adhesives is for basic repairs around the house. For example, silicone sealants can be used for caulking cracks.
