Why did Bill W write the 12 and 12?
Also to know is, why did Bill Wilson wrote the 12 and 12?
It was Bill's idea to write a book for people who couldn't get to AA meetings. He began work in the Newark, New Jersey, offices of Honor Dealers, owned by an early AA member named Hank Parkhurst, drafting and dictating to Parkhurst's secretary Ruth Hock. Quickly Wilson realized that he needed a structure for the book.

Similarly, you may ask, what does the 12th step mean?
AA Step 12 is the last step of the Alcoholics Anonymous program. This step requires you to have a spiritual awakening that came as a result of completing the previous 11 steps of AA, carry the message of AA to other addicts, and practice the principles of AA in all of your daily affairs.
First published in April 1953, Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions was written by Bill W., with the benefit of hindsight and experience, to offer an explicit view of the principles by which A.A. members recover and by which their Fellowship functions.
