Is it safe to put a bed next to a radiator?
Accordingly, is it safe to have bed next to radiator?
We keep an inch of space between the radiator and the bed. In a previous house we had this in Our daughters room. The radiator was off most of the time though as it got too hot to sleep next to it, but in mid winter on low. It's totally fine.
Hereof, can radiators catch things on fire?
Radiators can in fact overheat and cause thermal injuries from exposure to extreme heat. Not to mention their clothes can catch fire or at the very least, begin to melt. Please DO NOT use your radiators as chairs.
Furniture: placing large items near the radiator is never a good idea, especially if your furniture is made of wood or is upholstered. Not only does it have a chance of catching fire, it'll absorb lots of the heat and prevent it from spreading throughout the room.
