Does Mountain House expire?
Simply so, can you eat expired Mountain House?
The food doesn't “go bad” after the shelf life, but the quality will start to diminish. You may notice a slight change in flavor or texture, but we've eaten food from both our Adventure Meal™ pouches and Just in Case ® cans that were over 30 years old and were still tasty!
Also know, how long is Mountain House Good For?
30 Year Shelf Life On June 19th, 2016 we increased the shelf life of Mountain House meals in pouches, cans and kits to 30 years. Because this change is retroactive, any meals you've purchased in the last 30 years, are still good, regardless of the “Best By” date printed on the pouches.
Freeze dried foods last a little bit longer than dehydrated ones. Most freeze dried foods that you buy are sealed under nitrogen in resilient packaging, allowing for anywhere from a two to twenty-five year shelf life. Freeze dried fruits are on the lower end of the shelf life spectrum, lasting a little over two years.
