The London Evening Standard is to become a free newspaper.
The move follows Russian billionaire Alexander Lebedev taking control of the Standard from Daily Mail-owner Associated Newspapers in January. The London Lite paper is already given away free. Last month, the free London Paper ceased publication.
Hereof, when did the Evening Standard become free?
12 October 2009
Correspondingly, what time does the Evening Standard get distributed?
Before the changes, which were revealed on Friday, the Standard had been going to press at 11am or 11.15am, with a second 'slip' edition going out at 12.30pm for later breaking news which would get into the last few hundred thousand copies of the daily 900,000 print-run.
Today the newspaper has a new look and new features to match our dynamic, diverse and successful capital. There's a fresh and specially designed typeface — called Standard, of course — and a new style to our front page with Eros in red in our new-look masthead.
