Why is it called Mad Dog 20 20?
Category:

non alcoholic beverages
The MD meant the first initials of the original producers company name of this wine, Morgan David Co.. The 20-20 means this is what we call in the USA a 'fortified' wine, that is cheap, nasty, low grade wine with additional wine brandy added to make the alcohol content 20%.
Similarly one may ask, where did the term Mad Dog 20/20 come from?
Thunderbird bigfooted the competition, and Mogen David was back to where it started, serving its small niche market. Enter MD 20/20, so-named because it was 20% alcohol and came in 20-ounce bottles.
Secondly, what does Mad Dog 2020 stand for?
MD 20/20 is an American fortified wine. The MD actually stands for its producer, Mogen David, however, it is widely known as "Mad Dog". Originally, 20/20 stood for 20 oz @ 20% alcohol.
I don't know what MD 20/20 is, but essentially, you're drinking a bottle of wine at 13% abv. If you're sharing it, you each will drink 1/4 of a bottle (175 ml each). It wouldn't be enough to get me drunk, but you're young, and I don't know how much alcohol your body can tolerate.
