What score do you need to pass Florida Bar?
Keeping this in consideration, how hard is it to pass the Florida Bar exam?
Overall – Pass with an overall average of 136. So you can fail one part but still pass if you score high enough on the other part. The Board of Bar Examiners are not very transparent on how exactly they score and how you get a 136. Pass both sections – Score at a minimum 136 on the Florida part and MBE part.
Rank | State Bar Examination | Overall Passage Rate |
---|---|---|
1 | California | 73.41 |
2 | Louisiana | 68.23 |
3 | Washington | 74.54 |
4 | Oregon | 77.96 |
Then, what percentage do you need to pass the bar?
The short answer: If you are aiming for a MBE score of 131-135 (which is a passing score in jurisdictions that require scores of 262-270 to pass), you should aim for 58%-62%. We suggest aiming for at least 60% to be safe.
For the July 2017 bar exam, the national average MBE score was 141.7. If you take the bar exam in a UBE jurisdiction, it is easy to figure out a passing MBE score. Take the score you need to pass and divide by two. If your jurisdiction requires a 266 out of 400 to pass, then a 133 is a “passing” MBE score.
