What is board board fencing?
Also know, what is a board on board fence?
A board on board fence is a fence that consists of central wood posts with wood fencing panels on either side. In other words, board on board fences layer vertical boards on top of each other. If installed correctly, every other board is attached to an opposite side of the fence rails, with small spaces in between.
Beside this, what do you call fence boards?
Pickets, also called slats or boards, attach to the backer rails with nails or screws. They make up the body of the fence and are therefore the most visible component of the fence project. Pickets are available in multiple top styles such as dog ear, flat top and french gothic.
When building a solid privacy fence, the fence boards are either butted tightly together, or spaced 3/8 to 1/4 inch apart to allow the wood to expand and contract in wet and dry weather. Thus, 6-inch fence boards would be spaced approximately 3 1/2 inches apart, since the actual width of a 6-inch board is 5 1/2 inches.
