Is texting replacing face to face communication?
Hereof, is social media replacing face to face communication?
Social media can help us communicate and enhance our lives, but using it as a substitute for face-to-face and physical interaction can do the opposite. It can also disconnect us from the real world by making us too busy caring about people we hardly know or about things which may not be true.
Then, why is text messaging a bad form of communication?
Because text messaging cannot accurately convey tone, emotion, facial expressions, gestures, body language, eye contact, oral speech, or face-to-face conversation, it is likely messages will be misinterpreted or misunderstood. Texting can have a negative effect on interpersonal development among teens.
It provides a feel of friendliness which, in turn, boosts the success of your relationships, whether they are personal or business relationships. Using emails or phones wouldn't give you the opportunity to build camaraderie. Face to face communication is great form of persuasion, engagement, and leadership.
