Then, how do I submit a show idea to Netflix?
Netflix only accepts submissions through a licensed literary agent, or from a producer, attorney, manager, or entertainment executive with whom we have a preexisting relationship. Any idea that is submitted by other means is considered an “unsolicited submission.”
- Get your film in the Netflix database.
- Work with an independent film distribution company.
- Ask people to request your film in their Netflix queue.
- Get press coverage of your film.
Keeping this in view, how do you rate something on Netflix?
Click on "taste profile" in the bar on the top right, and then select "Taste preferences." Select a movie that you've seen to rate. Choose between "1" to "5" stars based on how much you liked the movie. The total number of ratings you've done is measured in the top right of the screen.
Netflix buys shows at a rate of the cost of production plus about 30 percent of production costs, but it retains most of its future licensing rights. This is different from how networks typically license shows, which often only covers 60 to 70 percent of production.
