A globe is a three-dimensional sphere while a map is two-dimensional. The globe represents the whole earth, whereas a map may represent the whole earth or just a part of it. A globe can be used to get a broad-level picture of the world while maps provide more specific information about different places.
Accordingly, how are maps and globes alike?
a) “Maps are flat. Globes are round.” b) “Maps let you see all the places in the world at the same time. Globes give you a better picture of what our round planet looks like from space.”
Thereof, what do maps and globes have in common?
They have imaginary lines, ie; latitude, longitude, prime meridian, and equator.
A GLOBE IS MORE ACCURATE THAN A FLAT MAP BECAUSE IT MIMICS THE TRUE SHAPE OF THE EARTH. IT IS ROUND IN SHAPE AND SIZE . A MAP PRESENTS A DISTORTED VIEW AS IT IS FLAT. ON THE CONTRARY, A GLOBE PRESENTS A LESS DEFORMED VIEW AS IT IS ROUND IN SHAPE.
