Can you work while attending PA school?
Herein, can you work and go to PA school at the same time?
Working part time or PRN can be difficult while in PA school. In fact, most PA programs strongly discourage students from working in any capacity, particularly during the didactic year. I worked two jobs steadily through college and continued to work leading up to PA school, but I chose not to work in PA school.
Beside this, do PA's work long hours?
Most physician assistants work full time. Some work more than 40 hours per week. Physician assistants may work nights, weekends, or holidays. They may also be on call, meaning that they must be ready to respond to a work request with little notice.
When it comes to finding a job, probably not so much, but when it comes to obtaining superb clinical experience along with solid faculty, excellent academics, and a top rate student body - then yes, the PA school you attend does matter.
