Local foreigners who live here are quick to assure visitors that it's safe to eat fruit and vegetables so long as you make sure you wash them. I would argue that the greatest disappointment of Mexico is that the fruit — oranges, Honeydew and watermelons, pineapple — all look wonderful, but all are virtually tasteless.
